Overview
Built for a surf equipment retailer's exclusive SMS deal club, this Make.com scenario turns a landing-page signup form into a fully onboarded, paying-ready customer with zero manual work. It checks incoming phone and email against existing records to prevent duplicate signups, handles re-subscribing users who had previously opted out, creates or reuses a BigCommerce customer record, and delivers a welcome SMS plus the current active deal as an MMS.
What I built
- Duplicate-signup detection checking both phone and email against the existing subscriber sheet
- BigCommerce customer creation via native API module, with lookup-and-reuse for existing emails
- Instant welcome SMS plus a conditional MMS follow-up carrying the current active deal
- Graceful handling of unsubscribed users re-signing up, guiding them to text START instead
